What is click fraud protection?

Does it replace Google's own invalid-click filtering?
No, it adds to it. Google already credits back obviously invalid clicks, and Shield even shows you how many the network filtered. Shield catches the repeat offenders that slip past that filter and excludes them going forward. It works on Search campaigns and blocks by IP address.
Will it accidentally block real customers?
